THS: How long have you been a Certified Massage Therapist? Tell us a bit about your training.
Beth: I graduated from Cypress Health Institute in the spring of 2014 with training in Swedish, Integrated Massage, and Polarity. Shortly after, I started working as an intern and eventually a massage therapist at Santa Cruz Core Fitness and Rehab. I recently completed a Deep Tissue Class with the Core Fitness wellness director, Jay Negron.
THS: What inspired you to become a Certified Massage Therapist?
Beth: When I was in college, I did a study abroad program in Thailand where I was introduced to massage. I was blown away by how powerful massage can be, and my experience definitely planted the seed.
THS: What do you enjoy most about your practice?
Beth: So many things! I love helping people in such a simple, but powerful way. I also like the blend of focus, creativity, and intuition that a good massage requires.
THS: What do you love most about working at the Tea House Spa?
Beth: The environment is wonderful and the staff is so genuine and helpful. I never feel like I’m working alone.
THS: What are some things you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Beth: I love to paint and draw, rock climb, hike, and practice yoga. I’m also a big fan of the Hidden Peak Tea House.
THS: What are three words you would use to describe yourself?
Beth: Warm, Patient, Insightful.
