Promotes health and relaxation by relieving muscle tension and improving circulation through a system of long strokes, kneading and friction on muscle layers combined with active and passive movements of the joints. It can be light or deep, adjusted to the client’s comfort.
Deep Tissue/Myofacial Release
Addresses the fascia, the tissue that surrounds and connects the muscles, bones and internal organs. It is aimed at releasing tension in the fascia as a means of restoring balance to the body and its systems. It used many of the same movements and techniques as swedish, but the pressure is generally more intense.

A Japanese word that translates as “universal life energy”. It is a gentle touch approach that addresses one’s energy field as a means of healing one’s pain on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels. The practitioner directs and concentrates energy by placing their hands on ten to twenty specific areas of the receiver’s body to cause negative energy to dissipate. The hand positions are chosen to impact the chakras, internal organs and glands of the receiver.
The art of using various touch techniques on specific points of the feet, hands and ears to normalize body function, promote health and restore energy.
Uses pressure to relieve trigger points (tender or sensitive areas in the soft tissue). In the presence of pain, the functioning of the body is out of balance. There is a tendency to compensate for pain in one area by overusing and stressing other areas. By locating and treating trigger points that are painful to touch, blood circulation is increased and balance restored.
Chi Nei Tsan
A holistic approach of ‘working the energy of internal organs’. Work is mainly in the abdomen with a deep. soft, gentle touch.
Developed from the oriental medical theory that disease occurs because of the stagnation or blockage of the flow of life energy within the body. Pressure techniques are used to affect the interrupted energy flow throughout the meridians and related organs. Reduces stress.
A Hawaiian holistic healing tradition of compassionate touch and nurturing techniques combined with many stretches and range of motion applications.
Uses light or firm touch along with rocking to manipulate energy fields. Polarity is considered non-manipulative, meaning the therapist is not trying to manually correct dysfunction in the muscle tissue, the goal is to help the body reach neutral energy.
A gentle, noninvasive form of massage that works with cranial bones. the spinal column and the sacrum to balance energy as well as the flow of cranial sacral fluid. It is often used to treat headaches, restlessness, insomnia, sinus pressure and earaches.
Thai (on table)
Assisted yin yoga session in which the therapist applies gentle pressure to enhance the client’s stretch.
Derived from swedish massage, sports massage is aimed toward reducing or eliminating factors that interfere with performance. It is designed to: enhance endurance and stamina, increase flexibility and motion, reduce muscle tension and soreness, increase circulation, enhance recovery of muscle, facilitate repair of injured tissue and relieve muscle cramps and spasms.
Specifically designed to alleviate the source of the pain through cycles of isolated pressure and release. The therapist may ask the client to participate through deep breathing as well as identifying the exact location and intensity of the discomfort. Trigger point releases constricted areas in the muscles thus alleviating pain. Trigger point therapy on a regular basis can help naturally manage pain and stress from chronic injuries.
Medical Qi Gong
A gentle type of exercise used to treat specific ailments and symptoms of disease. A way of affecting and directing qi, or life force, without necessarily touching the body with the hands. Recent studies have proven Qi Gong to be effective in treating: Fibromyalgia. Depression. Weakened immune system.
Like Shiatsu, Tui Na uses rhythmic compression along energy channels of the body, as well as a variety of techniques that manipulate and lubricate the joints. Work directly affects the flow of energy by holding and pressing the body at acupressure points. It’s especially effective for joint pain, sciatica, muscle spasms, and pain in the back, neck, and shoulders, and the tension associated with stress.
Focuses on the treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal dysfunction and pain. In addition to treating specific injuries, it is used to increase range of motion, decrease and manage pain and restore normal body movement and function. It can also help expedite recovery from an activity or competition and alleviate post exercise soreness.
Works directly with your nervous system to reduce accumulated tension and stored trauma. Utilizes gentle specific contacts along the spine that provide a biofeedback response within the nervous system. The result is a significant reduction of stress, pain and tension, increased flexibility and the alleviation of chronic symptoms or disorders
